Agile Implementation of Real Estate Data Management System
As the Technical Project Manager, I led the Agile implementation of a centralized data management system (DMS) for a real estate agency. This project involved managing the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), employing Scrum methodologies, and utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence for project tracking and collaboration.
The engagement began with thorough requirements gathering, using interviews and workshops to identify pain points with the agency's existing data silos. I then developed a comprehensive product backlog and sprint plan outlining features to streamline the management of property listings, client interactions, and sales data.
We embraced an iterative development approach, prioritizing the creation of a functional prototype. This allowed us to gather early user feedback from real estate agents, which we incorporated into subsequent sprints to improve usability and align the DMS with the agency's workflow.
During the development phase, I managed the engineering team, ensuring timely completion of user stories and maintaining code quality through code reviews and automated testing. A key challenge was the seamless migration of legacy data, requiring the development of custom ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) scripts to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
As the DMS neared release, I coordinated comprehensive user acceptance testing (UAT) and delivered hands-on training to agency staff. We also developed detailed user documentation and a support portal to facilitate smooth onboarding and ongoing usage.
The successful launch of this DMS resulted in a significant reduction in manual data entry, streamlined reporting, and improved decision-making for the real estate agency. This project deepened my expertise in data management solutions and demonstrated my ability to deliver complex technical projects within budget and timeline constraints.
