Agile Conceptualization of AI-Powered Decision Support System
As part of IIM Lucknow's Innovation Initiative, I led a cross-functional team in an entrepreneurial exercise to conceptualize an AI-powered decision support system (DSS). This project simulated a startup environment, requiring us to develop a comprehensive business plan and go-to-market strategy.
We initiated the project with in-depth market research and competitive analysis, identifying a need for a DSS that could integrate disparate data sources and provide real-time, actionable insights. Utilizing design thinking methodologies, we brainstormed potential use cases and validated our assumptions through customer interviews and surveys.
Adopting an Agile (Scrum) framework, we developed a detailed product roadmap and a minimum viable product (MVP) definition. We then explored various AI and machine learning (ML) techniques, such as natural language processing (NLP) and predictive modeling, to determine their feasibility and relevance to the DSS.
While the project did not involve building a functional product, we meticulously crafted technical architectures, estimated project costs, and devised a comprehensive financial model. We also created a compelling pitch deck and presentation to showcase the DSS's value proposition to potential investors.
This immersive experience honed my skills in market analysis, Agile project planning, financial modeling, and stakeholder communication. It also fostered an entrepreneurial mindset, encouraging me to think critically about the commercial viability of innovative ideas and the steps required to bring them to market. I am eager to leverage these skills and insights to drive future AI-powered solutions.
